Nicely, it’s about rattling time. With the discharge of Thor: Love And Thunder simply months away, the web has been clamouring for a primary glimpse of Taika Waititi’s second outing with the lovable lightning-powered demigod. Lastly, the Asgardians have heard our prayers, and delivered an Easter present within the type of a really temporary, very thrilling teaser for the brand new Thor solo film, which finds our hero in considerably of a reflective place – and, maybe, about to depart behind his “superhero-ing days” for good. Watch it beneath.
The introspection is hardly stunning – the final time we noticed Thor, in Avengers: Endgame, he was embracing his newly larger physique, had simply helped to defeat Thanos (after blaming himself for not aiming for the pinnacle the primary time), proved himself worthy of each hammer Mjolnir and new weapon Stormbreaker, and flew off with what remained of the Guardians gang. Love And Thunder seems to be a continuation of Thor’s journey of self-discovery, opening with a montage of him by the ages sprinting by timber, with a voiceover from the God of Thunder telling us that his arms, “as soon as used for battle”, are nowadays “however humble instruments for peace”, and saying that he wants to determine precisely who he’s.
While this teaser provides little or no away when it comes to plot, there are lots of key moments to pick – Thor appears to have hung round with the Guardians for a minimum of a short time longer (and his hilariously aggressive alpha-male relationship with Chris Pratt’s Starlord has clearly continued); Korg, voiced by Waititi himself, is again; and there’s new places to discover, together with what seems like a pirate ship, a floating metropolis, and, given the lightning-grabbing cash shot of who we’re guessing is Russell Crowe’s Zeus, Mount Olympus? As for Asgard, it seems to be thriving, with an elevated inhabitants, flying boats overhead and enormous cruise ships on the water – although King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) appears lower than glad, glimpsed trying sharp in a go well with at some form of board assembly. The actual applause-worthy, jump-out-your-seat second, although? Overlook Cap lifting the hammer in Endgame – this time, it’s flying into the arms of Natalie Portman, aka. Jane Foster, aka. The Mighty Thor, aka. Sure Please We Need To Watch It Proper Now, Thanks.
However, with no signal of Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher but, or actually any hints on the storyline, there’s nonetheless loads to be taught. We could give ‘Get Assist’ a go, and possibly Marvel will spill the beans? If not, we’ll discover out simply who Thor actually is when Love And Thunder lands in cinemas in July 2022.
